Dawn Stuckey, MED, ATC, LAT

StuckeyDawn Stuckey is in her twelfth season with Rice Athletics and is currently one of the athletic trainers for football. She is also in her tenth season as Director of Insurance Management.  Beginning in the Spring 2016 semester, she had the added appointment of Adjunct Associate Professor in the Kinesiology Department.  In this role, she assists Lecturer Roberta Anding with the KINE 403: Sports Nutrition course and also assist in bridging Rice’s Athletic Training program with our Sports Medicine program in order to create more potential research opportunities for Kinesiology students.

Prior to coming to Rice, Stuckey was the assistant athletic trainer for three years at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, working mainly with football, men's soccer and women's basketball.

In addition, Stuckey has served as an intern athletic trainer with the Houston Comets (WNBA) in 2005 and for the Houston Rockets (NBA) in 2006 and 2007.

Dawn double majored in athletic training and biology from Newman University in Wichita, Kan., while working with a variety of sports teams including men's soccer, basketball, softball and baseball. She then earned her master's degree in health and kinesiology from the University of Texas at Tyler in Tyler, Texas, in 2005.

She is married to Daniel Stuckey, who is a teacher and football coach at Dawson High School. They reside in Pearland, Texas with their twin girls, Katelyn and Alexandra, and their furry kids Rolo and Ralph. Dawn enjoys competing in triathlons in her spare time and loves promoting health and fitness to others.
