P. Burke Wilson, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS

Burke WilsonDr. Burke Wilson joined the Department of Kinesiology as a lecturer in January 2015. He teaches in the area of sports medicine and is currently teaching human anatomy and a sports injury course. Dr. Wilson is a sports physical therapist at Texas Children’s Hospital. His clinical interests include operative and non-operative management of adult and youth athletes with lower extremity injuries and biomechanical gait analysis for runners and triathletes. 

Dr. Wilson earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Texas Southwestern and completed his post-professional residency in sports physical therapy at the Ironman Sports Medicine Institute in Houston. Additionally, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Texas A&M University.

He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Sports Section and serves on the public relations committee. Additionally, he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and an active member of the American College of Sports Medicine. Recently, Dr. Wilson also passed his board specialty exam in Sports Medicine (SCS). Outside of work, Dr. Wilson serves on the board of Houston Heights Area Young Life.
